Wines from the United States
The first abbreviation is US followed by the state.
Since almost every state in the union produces wine, here is the complete list:
Country
The state is usually followed by the county or appellation.
If it is a county, the word "County" is dropped.
If it is a valley, the word "Valley" is abbreviated to "V."
